High Volume Cash Receipt Entry Kinetic Web

My AR is trying to convert to the kinetic web from the classic screens. She has a stopping point with her high volume CRE. Does anyone’s AR have this figured out?

She has a slick process in the classic where she exports to Excel the invoices from the selection. She modifies a T\F, and copies the balance dollars to the Allocated and Cash Applied. Then she copies the columns from the InvoiceNum to the CashApplied. 8 columns. Then she does a paste update. It takes 40 minutes, but it works in Classic. This same logic does not work in Kinetic Web. We have adjusted to using the Copy All with titles. When she does the paste update, it appears to try and adjust the first line. Then the invoice listing screen goes blank and freezes. No errors. Even on a 10 line update. The unapplied changes to 0. We have to close the screen, and nothing has happened. The unapplied is back to what we started with.

We are unsure if this can be accomplished with DMT as there seems to be many fields being updated with the paste update.

We cannot use the standard invoice selection. The system selects credits first, then start selecting debit invoices. This logic does not match what we do. We want to apply invoices based on date. You cannot filter by date and apply, as the software first selects all of the credits first (even those not in the date filter).

Sound issue with Kinetic, you can report to Epicor support for a fix.
Meanwhile, you can try DMT for it.

HI
This appears to be a recurring problem. There is a KB0118200 that claims this was fixed in 11.2.100.
We are live on 11.3.100.20.
We are testing 12.0.100.11.

The problem is in both versions.

DMT may be the smart position to go, but this is over my head. What would this DMT be pointed at?
Selecting invoices to apply to,or changing invoices to paid.

Hi Scott, I used the following template for Cash Receipt Combined.

Thanks Raul
I was able to update your format for 2024.1 and get something that looks like it works. Now I have to get finance on board with this idea.

Thanks Rakesh
We have been going back and forth with support. We hope to get them on a call to show them what I believe is a difference of process due to the high volume and date specific invoice selection.

Hi Scott, I’m glad it worked for you.

Best Regards
Raul D.

Support showed us that there is a new process with Kinetic. We used it in 2024.1. Support used 2025.2 There was a KB that we missed somewhere.

  1. Create your Group and Check.
  2. Get into the Invoice Selection & Modify the Invoice Selection screen to move some columns out of the way. You want - Invoice, Invoice Date, Balance, Allocated Amount up front. Save layouts.
  3. Sort your list of invoices by date.
  4. Export to Excel the list of invoices from the Selection screen. (ignore the funky date problem)
  5. For your identified invoices, copy and paste dollars from Balance into Allocated. Verify your dollar amounts.
  6. Copy the 4 columns for your selection of invoices from Excel - Invoice, Date, Balance, and Allocated.
  7. Close the Invoice Selection screen.
  8. In the Allocate screen, right click in the Invoice section, select Paste New.
  9. Sit back and wait for the paste to finish.
Then finish by posting your group. This is more or less it.

Do you have the KB from this?

Utah

I may have misspoke in the heat of battle, as I could not find any KB about this online or in either ticketing system.

From the Epicor ticket, here is the comment saying this was a problem.
”using the Paste Update in the Invoice Selection tab has been reported as an issue under the problem number PRB0241907 in which they are letting us know that this feature has changed. As a workaround the paste new function in the Allocate section can be used,”
