Issues with the Paste Update option in Classic and Kinetic UI

Hello,

Does anyone else experience significant delays in data refresh after using the Paste Update feature for Sales Order Line Releases?

Here is the process I follow using the Classic UI:

When updating the Release information for each Sales Order Line, it takes about 3 to 5 minutes per line for the updates to reflect in Kinetic, affecting both Classic and Kinetic UIs. We encounter this issue weekly when we need to import a new set of release updates from an Excel file formatted to match the Releases data grid in Kinetic.

In the Kinetic UI, the Paste Update option only becomes available after I filter the Release Data Grid to display only ‘Open’ statuses.

Attached is an image illustrating the issue:

This filter is essential for the Paste Update to appear. However, even after applying it, the latency is still unmanageably slow, causing us nearly 3 hours of downtime each week.

Does anyone else face similar challenges, or does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this?

Thanks,

Hila

Turn off ready to process before doing a paste update.

Turn it back on when you are done.

Can you use DMT to perform the same update?

Hi Kevin,

The suggested solution works flawlessly, but only in the Classic UX environment. Thank you for the tip. I’m using it currently, and it’s working wonderfully.

Thank you again!

THE CHALLENGE REMAINS! In the Kinetic UX environment, we continue to face issues as the current method proves ineffective, particularly because it fails to add more Releases beyond those manually entered.

Maybe, I am missing something…

Do you have any suggestions?

Clint,

Unfortunately, when I joined the company, we didn’t have the license for DMT, and I’m currently in the middle of negotiations to acquire it.

The issue right now is related to the Kinetic UX environment.

Do you think this could solve the issue? if so, could you explain how?

Support case.

use classic and complain to support :man_shrugging:

If you can code, or have someone, then you could use some of the steps in this post to solve the issue.

Not paste update, but won’t cost you anything, unlike dmt.

Hello,

In the Kinetic UX environment

I’ve combined all the suggested solutions. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you:

  1. Disable the “Ready to process” option in the Sales Order. (Issues with the Paste Update option in Classic and Kinetic UI - #2 by klincecum)
  2. Click on “Lines”.
  3. Apply “Filters” in Lines where Open = Is True.
  4. Select the necessary Sales Order Line.
  5. Go to Releases.
  6. In Releases, apply “Filters” where Open = Is True.
  7. Copy the Excel data that matches the field structure you need.
  8. Choose the starting Release.
  9. Perform the Paste Update.
  10. If there are new Releases in your Excel reference file, go to the final row, select Paste New, and all your data will show in the Releases data grid.

This method has 2 extra steps but is a solution until EPICOR resolves this issue by similarly making this to Kinetic’s Classic UX environment.

I hope this helps!

Hello Kevin,

I reviewed the link you suggested, and it’s fantastic! It definitely simplifies my work, and I’ll keep it in mind for new apps we plan to develop.

However, for our current project, I think it might slow down the implementation in our production workflow.

I’ll reach out to support to address this concern.
