So for the last year we have had our workers clocking in and out and stating the quantity that they have worked on during their shift. I know i can manually create a DMT file after extracting all of the production time data but how would i go about having Epicor automatically update the production standard using the information entered into MES by the operator? IS there any real way to do this?
operationally speaking, and from a costing, engineering, scheduling, quoting or even production control aspect that to me is the worst idea ever. You can end up plugging in data from process that are out of control into your costing and scheduling model. There are ways to do it using the tool sets, but if you’re really after something else there may be better ways to go about it.
There is no built in way of doing this, generally your production standard should be pretty static. Maybe once a year or two you could analyze your production data and determine a more “appropriate” standard based on averages. But this should really not be automated, you want to make sure you account for outliers and that your standard isn’t fluctuating all over the place. What exactly are you trying to acomplish
