Illogical PO Suggestion

I’m relatively new to Epicor and have been having quite a bit of trouble with PO Suggestions. Namely, there’s quite a few inaccurate ones. We run regenerative MRP every day.

Here’s my example:

The part is set up with a min OH of 10, yet Epicor insists we need it when we’re at 100 pieces in stock. What is the logic here / if someone could help me understand why this would be getting generated that would be great, thanks!

We’d need to see your part setup. Give us your Part Plant / Planning setup screens.

Also what’s the suggestion source?

The Suggestion source is ‘Suggestion for warehouse:’ .

See below for the part setup.

Thanks for the help

Your min order qty, which explains the 100 being suggested.

Sorry for the confusion. It suggesting 100 is fine. I’m moreso asking why is it suggesting to purchase when we have 100 on hand?

The min on hand is set at 10 so that’s what’s not making sense to me.

Got it.

And welcome!

How far out do you run your MRP?

Run: Time Phased Material Requirements Report for this part and lets see if it says anything differently.

Are you replenishing other warehouses from this one? Maybe there’s demand there that’s calling for it…

No, this is the only warehouse it gets consumed from.

Is Dynamic Days of Supply enabled in Site Maintenance?

Nope,

I’m not sure on this, where would I find this info?

When you run MRP, you set a Cutoff Date. Was wondering what that was set to. Most of the time it is dynamic

I’m not the one running the MRP so I guess I couldn’t say how it’s set up. Not sure if this helps.

These are the defaults when I open process MRP.

OK…just thinking out loud as to potential causes. We do a fair amount of resupply/transfer stuff so that popped into my head. Could be a lot of other things then…min/max/safety, any open job requirements (if it’s a component) or sales order demand (if finished goods). I don’t run MRP here either so I can’t really help too much more here.

It’s a component, min is set to 10 with no max or safety stock. The current requirements wouldn’t take it below min.

No worries, I really appreciate the help anyhow!

Any chance you have a min set on the bin?
