What version are you on? Have you tried asking Insite help or are you off maintenance?

I don't think there is a "manual" as such, but the version I'm on (2.90.430) has a compiled help file. in the Epicor905 folder, look under InsiteManifest\Help\InsiteShip.chm.

Got it mark very insightful and helpful Thanks again. Now my next question is we are trying to modify the Crystal reports that InsiteManifest uses. From my research it looks like the reports are pointing to a .xsd file in the database expert and they appear to have their own tables kind of like a RDD, examples are DOCGoods and DOCHeader. How do I go about adding a table etc to the report? Are they ODBC/OLE reports?  Need some guidance on this. I have added tables before to RDDs/odbc/ole reports before but can't quite figure out how to modify the Insite Manifest reports. Any help or info is appreciated.

Thanks again,

From what I know, you cannot print preview the Insite Manifest reports. I didn’t try adding   any table.Â

To see the changes – I would actually have to print the documents.Â

Under the Goods tab in Insite Manifest – you can get different results on the reports by rebuilding the Goods list.Â

I actually ended up modifying the Packslip in Epicor to print the NAFTA and Commercial Invoice for Customer Shipments.  We had more control over what it printed.

Example  - RMA’s we put a one dollar value on when we don’t charge them anything.

We also had problems with AES interface in Insite.

Hope this helps. Maybe someone else has more information.

I don't see a 'Goods' Tab in my version of Insite. Anybody have any further input on my questions in my previous post?

Thanks,
B-

It is under Forms – International paperwork.

I don't see a 'Goods' Tab in my version of Insite. Anybody have any further input on my questions in my previous post?

Thanks,

B-

Found it. But I still have my questions as stated above. Datasource? Add Tables?

Thanks,
B-

What do you want to add as far as data?

I need to add the Plant and Country Tables. But Once I know how to add one Table, then I'm good to go as far as adding more tables/fields to the reports.

Thanks,
B-

You shouldn’t have to add the Country table.   Look under Maintenance > Countries in Insite.

You import them from Epicor.

ok, that still doesn't solve my Plant table issue. How do you  add any other tables/fields? I'm sure we will want to add more then just the country and Plant Tables at some point. Like I said above, if someone can show me how to add just one table then I can add/modify the reports myself from there.

What kind of plant issues?

You can set up facilities under maintenance in Insite.

I have found that Insite has great support and  extremely helpful.

We are trying to take the 'out of the box' insite report and change them to conform to our company layout standards and add other fields we want to be displayed in the reports.  Part of this involves the plants name, address, email, webpage, address, telephone, fax number. Now we have several different plants, so each time the report is ran it needs to print this info for the Current Plant that the report is being run in. In a normal report this can be done by linking the plant field or setting a CurPlant criteria on a BAQ. But with these reports I don't know what they are using for a data source and I don't want to go the route of ODBC, because then this has to be setup on each client machine. Does anyone know how to add tables to a 'out of the box' insite manifest report?

Thanks

We ended up making different versions of the Packslip in Customer Shipments for the Commercial Invoice and NAFTA agreement instead of using the Insite Forms.

We also did the same thing.  Insite handles the communications with UPS, FedEx and DHL.

Interesting idea.  We have always wanted the comments from the sales order to automatically make it to the special instructions on the Insite BOL form.  Has anyone ever used a customized Epicor pack slip to create a Bill of Lading?  Or maybe Epicor has one you can use rather than Insite's?

Sounds like a simple BPM.

I have always used the PackSlip RDD to create my BOLs. I've never actually used the BOL screens… I've never seen a need to.

Insite itself though comes with it's own Crystal Reports, and those are the ones we are trying to modify but haven't had any luck. Maybe we need to modify the Epicor 'out of the box' shipping forms?
