Inspection Required on Part record

That's how we did it. (Eventually we'll find better use for Class and probably blow it all to heck - but until then - it works.)

Another method for setting Inspection Required by part number, is to
create a class with Inspection Required, and another without; then just
change the class on the part number record.

Class examples:

Purchased

Purchased - Inspection Required

Our previous system (MAPICS) allowed for Inspect on Receipt by part number. Vantage does not allow this; Inspection Required is only available by Purchase Order, Supplier, or Part Class.

For those of you who prefer to label Inspection Required at the Part record level, what workarounds do you use or what suggestions do you have for us?

Thanks,

You could place a checkbox on the part record, then use a BPM to auto
check the PO line inspection required based on that field when that part
was chosen

Create an user defined flag at the part level then use a BPM to drive
functionality where you need it...

Enhancement requests #15707MPS and #15601MPS, both asking to have an
"inspection required" field added to the part record, are currently open
with Epicor. Please contact Support to have your site ID added to the list
of interested customers.
