Inv WIP Recon number of processes?

Is there any way I can dedicate a number of processes to Inv WIP Recon? Like if you run PO Suggestions, you are able to add power to it.

-I am closing large batches (8K) of jobs and running Inv WIP recon takes 9 hrs each time at least. I am the only user over the weekends, and I want to make sure I get every bit of oiwer available diverted to this. Is anyone aware of a way to do this?

Thanks!

Paul

If you make this an Epicor Idea, put the link. I know I would vote for that.

Could you break WIP Recon into several smaller date ranges? Then combine them after they run?

Like if your doing this weekly:

  1. Have the first WIP Recon date range be From: 2 week ago To: Last Monday
  2. the 2nd be From: Last Tuesday To: Last Tuesday
  3. the 3rd be From: Last Wednesday To: Last Wednesday
    … and so on.

I could break them up, I suppose, but I would end up with many chunks to re-group back together… 8000 jobs takes about 8 hours to run, so I just let it go…

It’s better to run more frequently. As @ckrusen suggested, break into a smaller range. When Posting Rule was introduced in 9.04, for one of my clients, it used to take 23 hours for posting one-day transactions which now it takes less than an hour. We have come a long way.

From here on out we will close on a schedule; no doubt about that. Prior to this clean up we never closed or completed any jobs.

My current problem is closing the old jobs that are still open.

Hope this makes it more clear.

Ok, Paul. Do have similar issue during cost roll up posting and stock take. Many system posts to GL as transaction occurs.

As you are closing 8K jobs in one month, will it not cause any issue with variances hitting in one period?

Variances are huge, but we know them up front and are prepared to deal with them. Sooner or later you will have to deal with them, and now is the time. 2020 is just the type of year to go though this. After that: no more bad habits.

Voted. I gave it 3 votes. I would probably give more if I could.
