Subject: [Vantage] Job Scheduling

Waiting for Tech Support to return my call.
Scheduler entered job, scheduled..then went back in and changed qtys on
some of the sub-asm's because of inventory on hand, didn't need to make
extra. Vantage began re-scheduling, then hung up at 21%.
Job was deleted and re-entered, everything went fine until he changed
pull qty on sub-asm (again), hung at 6% on re-schedule. Each time on a
different part#.

Ran Production Detail on job, everything looked as it should be.
They've done this before with no problems.
Only message was "Progress not Responding".
Help?

Thanks in advance.

Good morning everyone,
I'm looking for some help with scheduling on Vantage. We have very complex
BOMs (up to 800 or so subassemblies), and have multiple jobs (12-40) that
feed into a final assembly job. Most of the subjobs can be worked on
independently of each other. We just upgraded to 6.0 but do not have the
scheduling module as of yet. Currently there are planned hours for some of
the key assemblies to get the required dates of the material sort of close
to what they should be, but most of the required dates purchasing uses is
still done manually off of a spreadsheet. I realize a lot of work will need
to be done to set up estimated hours in the part maintenance, but once we do
that is there an easy way to set and lock in the fixed schedule? Once the
job is released there is not a lot of shifting of dates. I have played with
the scheduling module a little bit on the training database, but it's hard
to tell how much help it would be for more complex jobs and without having a
full time scheduler. Also the primary use will be to make the suggestion
dates for materials more accurate, not as a shop schedule (at least not
yet!)

Thank you
