Links to Website

Hello everyone,

My co-worker would like to link to a website with more information related to the part. So I put the website address in the comment field inside Part Maintenance.
However, in the Part tracker, the website address appears as text only and is not linked.
How can I link to that website?
Thank you in advance!

Doubt you can, but I don’t know any thing about the version of Epicor you are on. But in kinetic, you can create a button to launch a website using a field as the url.

I’m in Kinetic version. How to create a URL field?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The field doesn’t matter, use whatever field you want. Setup a button, then in the ‘onclick’ event setup a ‘external component’ widget with target ‘launch website’ then setup a ‘url-open’ widget. Then change the parameters to point to your field. There might be a more updated approach but this is what worked over a year ago.

Thanks for your kind reply. And I have two questions.

  1. I couldn’t find the route to set this up on my Epicor. On the screen below, where should i go?
  2. It sounds like your solution is a field where you can put a specified URL link. Is that so? What I want is for all users to be able to enter the URL link they want.

Since I am very new to Epicor, this might be an bothering question for you. Please understand.

Are you a system admin? If not, you won’t have any options available to you. If you are, then you need to utilize Application Studio.

I’m a system admin and have full authority.

This might help you.
