Lot Traceability

Under your raw material in Part Tracker Transaction History:
You can see where the material got issued to (What Job) and returned from
under the raw materials transaction history. STK-MTL with positive numbers
are issued and with negative numbers are returns.

Purchasing receipts to inventory are also here PUR-STK.

Under Job Tracker double click on the material allocation record and select
the Transaction tab for the same.

In your example:

Inventory
PUR-STK for 5000 pcs for lot 401
STK-MTL for 5000 pcs for lot 401 to job 1575-12
STK-MTL for -1900 pcs returned to inventory from job 1575-12 on log 401.
The job will show labor scrapping the 100

Hope this helps.

Patrick

Subject: [Vantage] Lot Traceability

On a test database - we are running a part through the paces using lot
traceability. The part we are using lot tracking on is a raw material
part used in production. We have added lots, created a purchase order,
entered receipts, transferred material to another warehouse, issuing
material to the job - so far, everywhere that it needs to be traced is
working and asking for lot numbers. When we report production to a job -
there is no lot traceability for this material. The operator would know
at the time of entry what lot the material came from. I want to create a
'balance sheet' for a lot : When did the material get received, in what
quantity, issued to a job, and last but, not least - what production
used that lot of material. This is very important in our inventory
control as under reported scrap is an issue. In other words, We received
LOT 401 for 5000 pieces. Job 1575-12 has reported production of 3000
pieces good, 100 pieces scrap. We have 1900 unaccounted for pieces from
LOT 401. Has anyone used this ? Is it not part of production entry ? Did
we not set something up right ? Any help would be appreciated. (we are
on Vantage 4.0)
