Making a Kinetic Material associated to a Kinetic Operation in the MoM

,

Has anyone associated materials to specific operations in the MoM through CPQ?

If so, how? (asking for a friend… that is my same height uh and answers to the same name and uh… well its me OK)

When you add a material there’s a property called “RelatedOperation.” That might be what you’re looking for

If I’m not mistaken that is looking for the Operation ID which if not manually set are in increments of 10, i.e. 10, 20, 30, etc.

With this in mind how is anyone else out there making sure the Operation ID exists and is the appropriate one? I have some ideas, but none feel very streamlined, wondering if someone has something really lean and streamlined.

How are you adding operations? If you’re doing it in method rules, I’d try to build some logic associated with that

because we did not consider this when we began, our materials and operations are added separately. I know if I were to do this again we would likely plan to add them together based on criteria similarly. We have also struggled to get the operations in the proper order, due to field choices sometimes operations need to be added to the beginning and others near the middle or end so without doing multiple IF statements we don’t have a way to streamline that processing.

Again if I were to start over I think I would have a much different plant and maybe even hard code the operation sequence with a predetermined sequence so I would know the operation sequence for given operations universally.
