MFGSys64.exe is it usable?

For what it's worth, you can just download crystal from the SAP site. There
isn't anything special about the version that comes with Epicor.

Does anyone know if the 64 bit version of the client is usable in 9.05.700b2?

Thanks in advance.
Yes, I believe I am running on that..

If I remember right, only if you don't want to print (Crystal Viewer still needs 32-bit).

Are you forced to get Crystal Server to use a 64x runtime? Or does anyone know where this is at?

I would imagine that the 64x version of mfgsys would be faster would it not?

It works, but I don't know that it provides any advantages. If I recall,
one of the Epicor dev guys mentioned that they only include it for people
that need to link in 64bit dll's, or something similar.

I don't believe there is a native 64-bit Crystal Reports 2008 Viewer. It's supported on 64-bit machines but only in 32-bit mode as far as I know. Epicor only supports the 2008 SP3 viewer officially. I had to upgrade to SP4 due to some problems with getting labels to print.

You can always give it a try if you want to run Epicor 64-bit and see if the 32-bit version work. I haven't tested it, was only told it didn't work. If you test and find others please share :)

We tried it just says invalid installation. Oh well if there is no real , general, use for the x64 version I won't worry about it too much.

64bit code isn't inherently faster unless you need to use the 64bit data
types, which I'm pretty sure Epicor doesn't do. You get a larger address
space, but again, the Epicor client doesn't really need it.

I've heard through the grape vine that a 64-bit Crystal runtime will be released with the 701 service pack? Last I saw 701 was scheduled for release at the end of this month. Has anyone else heard this?
