New to Kinetic - Need to bypass "disabledJobHead" rule in App Studio

Hey All, ive recently been given a task to add job hold to the job entry screen since epicor cant be bothered to fix JobHeld.

As many people have pointed out in other posts im unable to get my custom checkbox/tag to work because the engineered flag disables me from using it unless i first un-engineer it. But i havent seen too many posts talk about this recently and im running in circles trying to bypass it.

I have tried setting up a new rule to reverse the blocking that the system rule has on it. I have also tried setting up a pre-process BPM but i think i need to try Post next time around. Is there a way to get my field to be enabled even when the job is engineered without disabling Prevent Changes?

Well, for starters, I suggest not using Job Entry for small “status” items. In fact, I think having someone go into Job Entry at all is usually something of a process failure, but that’s a bigger discussion that I won’t dwell on here.

In short, yes, going through Job Entry to change a single field is a tedious mess. Instead, I recommend Job Status. This module will let you make minor changes to most JobHead fields without having to un-engineer the whole job. We use it for changing priority, due dates, and (yes!) hold status.
