ODBC Error- Invalid attribute in connection string

Hi there, Did anyone help you with the problem you had? I am installing
Merant driver in a week and would like to make sure that I wont come across
to any problems. I would like to know how you fixed it.

Subject: [Vantage] ODBC Error- Invalid attribute in connection string

Help! I installed the new Merant ODBC Progress drivers on my Desktop and
keep getting this error when I try to test connection:

[MERANT][ODBC PROGRESS driver] Invalid attribute in connection string:
DBQ.[MERANT][ODBC PROGRESS DRIVER][PROGRESS] Disconnected from server
because database name was incorrect. [437].[MERANT][ODBC PROGRESS driver]
[PROGRESS] Error establishing Open Interface Driver connection. [2575].

I installed it on my Notebook first and have no problem connecting. Has
anyone else have this problem?

Ed,

I have gotten many errors installing ODBC. My problems were always because
I typed something wrong, left a dlc variable referenced or something. Go
through every step again carefully and re-check that you did everything
correctly, this always solved it for me. Also, make sure your v: drive (or
whichever letter you use) is mapped. I've forgotten that before to.

Wow, I sound very incompetent.

Sarah
Did you copy the prosql32.dll file from the \Progress\Bin directory to your
c:\windows\system folder (win 95/98) or c:\winnt\system32 folder (NT)? Or
you can download the "Vantage 4.00 Merant ODBC Install Guide" from Epicor
web page and look at the Appendix A Troubleshooting section for error
message 437 and 2575.
