[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Hi All

We often have a situation where we need to restart Epicor or disconnect our
internet etc.

Is there any free, for commercial use, software that you guys use where you can
send a popup message to any PC on the network with text (that can be input
depending on what time of messages it is).

Obviously we can email it, but not everyone is constantly checking their emails.

Thanks.

I think the old 'net send' method still works. Has anyone tried it on 7?

Send an e-mail to your mobile phone's provider's SMS gateway?

"net send" only works if your network is running WINS (and your
workstations are running the "Messenger service"), which many newly
built (or re-built) networks no longer implement. Even on those
networks that still have WINS running, if there are multiple subnets
you'd need special configuration on your switches/routers in order for
the messages to propagate to all subnets.

Use pstools /psexec to enable Messagenr Service on all your client
compputers
then use Net Send for the messages.

run psexec with AD admin rights ofcourse.
