Off Topic - Win 2000 NT Pro. - HP Printer Woes

Which W2K Service Pak are you running? I had issues with the HP1100 and an
HP2100 until I installed SP2. Also, make sure you are using the PCL driver
(I can't remember if it is PCL 5 or 6 for the 1100).

Subject: [Vantage] Off Topic - Win 2000 NT Pro. - HP Printer Woes

I recently upgraded computers and am running Windows 2000
Professional NT. I am using the same HP Laserjet 1100 printer that I
have been using for years (previously on Win 95). I purchased updated
software from HP and was able to install the printer and get it
working fine. The problem comes when I log off windows. Once I return
to a login prompt and log back in to windows the printer stops
working. The printer still shows up, but when I try to print NOTHING
happens. The only way I have been able to get the printer working is
to delete the printer and reinstall. This happens EVERY time I log
off.

Thanks in advance,

Thanks in advance,
I sometimes had the same problem with my 1100 and have traced it down to
the USB port. When it happens I unplug the USB cable and the power
cable from the printer, then power off the computer and reboot. The
last time this happened I deleted the USB hub from the Device Manager
and let Windows re-install the drivers and that seems to have fixed the
problem as it hasn't happened for about 3 months now.

Hope this helps.
