Open Edge 10.1C on Server 2003 64 Bit

It likely was a corrupted installation of JVM. We started over with Epicors support helping us and got everything running smoothly. We weren't able to repair only the JVM, but since we weren't to far into the setup it wasn't a big deal to start clean and install to a new directory.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Setting up a test server for E9.
I have it all installed but can't get Progress Explorer Tool to run

This is not Server 2008
Admin service for 10.1C is started

Anyone else experience this?

bw
Did anyone find a solution for this problem? We are a new implementation and are having the same issue. Server 2003 64 bit license and also E9.

Just two errors when you restart the system, and they are pretty vague.

JVMstart.exe encountered a problem and needed to close.
Progress client encountered a problem and needed to be closed.

that are already on the server.

Double check your authorized user by right clicking on Localhost in PET.
I have my E9 test server running 2003 Enterprise 64 bit with no
problems. PET works with no problems.

We are unable to use the PET so that would not be an option. We are running 2003 Standard Standard Service Pack 2, so perhaps its possible there is some difference between Standard and Enterprise that helped you avoid the issue we are having.

I think I uninstalled the whole deal and created an Epicor904 folder at root of drive and installed there - I could not tolerate drilling into program files (x86) .... to find anything. For my sanity I Kept It Simple.....

Good Luck

If both 10.1B and 10.1C are on the same server, you have to change the ports on one of them. See 10068MPS. We chose to change the ports on 10.1B. But you have to right-click on local host in PET, go to properties, Advanced tab, and ensure it's on 20555. Sometimes it changes back to the 20931.
