OT - IGES translater question

Rick,

We use a cd called "Data Exchange CD" that we bought through Autodesk. It is a separate CD from AutoCAD. It has IGES, STEP, and VDAFS translators on it. I don't remember how much it cost because we bought it a while ago. But, I do know that it wasn't the same cost as a full license. We bought it sometime after we bought AutoCad 14. So I'm sure they have an updated CD by now. Our designers are happy with it and haven't had any problems.

Subject: [Vantage] OT - IGES translater question...

Hi all:

An off topic question to the CAD folks before I go and buy a full AutoCAD license.

Does anyone know of a high quality IGES translator that we could acquire to change incoming files (via email) without having to use AutoCAD's translator? Our supplier insists that there are many but that they are all a little "buggy" each in their own way. He says the only way to go is to buy AutoDesk's version.

My problem is that I have set up a separate PC to receive most email (so I can run NAV in real-time mode and not have to listen to all the @#$%^&* about speed) and I have a person lined up to manage this task. But I sure would rather save the $ from a full license.

TIA !!!
