Part Allocation(Soft) - No Job - No Order

We run 6.1.

You could put an MPS entry (Material Requirement Planning/General
Operations) in for the parts in question, which would create
your "soft" allocation. It could then be removed when the actual
allocation is ready.

Hi,

I know this sounds like a weird request. We are largely project based
and the details don't get firmed up until late in the day. Is it
possible to allocate/reverse a quantity of a part in vantage before an
order or job is created.

For example I know that I will require 2 x Part AAA. But I haven't got
the rest of the details to create the job yet.

I know this is strange request, I probably I should create the job when
I know I need to reserve Part AAA x 2.

Am I right in thinking this can't be done.
