Our solution was to design a external application written in progress that
essentially writes the specified fields to a txt file and then invokes the
command line program from Strandware's Label Matrix program to print the
label. I've defined multiple label formats for each customer for compliance
labeling and the shipping dept runs this app on their pc. They select the
label based on the customer ID. Each label is set up with the txt file as
it's database. Works very well. I also wrote procedures for printing
labels from packing slips, jobs or PO's for receiving. Initial programming
was handled by an outside programmer. The external program is defined in
their vantage menu and starts like any other from vantage. We did create
other databases to hold label formats that is integrated as well as the
vantage db. Hope this helps.

Subject: RE: [Vantage] Part Labels 8.00
I'm only on 6.1, but I became so tired of trying to make the labels I need
that I now use Word with Avery Labels download. It's a pain the first
go-round, but they are nice.

Wondering if any one has found or made a crystal report to allow
users to print labels with PartNum, PartDescription, Warehouse,
Bin and bar codes, for a given part or parts?
I've looked for something similar in Vantage but couldn't find
anything. The labels/tags that you can print during receiving
and after an operation would be nice but I need to be able to
print them at any time.
Thanks,
