This can be anything, starting from the bug/feature in UI, ot you just did not set all necessary fields to map to existing record. So you probably need to allow GetNew first and then look.

Did you try to repeat it in smart client? does paste there require AddNew enabled?

I’ll have to try this on some other uBAQs/dashboards/apps. Like I say, I don’t know if this “always” does this or it’s a bizarre one-off.

If it worked in the smart client I think you can report it.
Support is not writing code, so this question will be directed to development, in this case, to the team who works on browser grid stuff

PSA for Application Studio: If you SORT by the column in the BAQ, you must include the column in the DISPLAY fields
