I don't understand why you couldn't change the tree (personalize or customize) in the same way you can every other app I've seen. The only difference is the tree view is much more integral to how Method Tracker (or the editing equivalent in Engineers WB or Job Entry's Job Detials tree) actually functions.
They may have specifically tied event triggers & related BO methods to the tree and, if so, wisely disabled the ability to change the tree (so you don't screw up the application).
The only thing odd about Method Tracker (and the reason it is not directly menu deployed like other trackers) is that it has no search/load record control - That is why it is aways launched from the right click contect menu from other appropriate apps - like the Rev field in Part Entry or Tracker.
It is certainly NOT like the Resource Scheduling board where the graphical display sheet appears to be a non-customizable compiled (non .NET) application unto itself.
It is also not like Time Phase which is little more than a (pretty simple) Progress report that has been ".Net-ified" so you can change non-Grid control screen layout & add additional related data-views andassociated controls.
What's the harm in trying? You can always return layouts to base (or outright delete your personalization). If you are able to do it (and after a few days of use, run into no unpleasant 'surprises' as a result of your tinkering) perhaps then you'd be comfortable and could then roll it out as a company customization.
If you try it, I'd love to hear what you learned (good or bad). The standard tree layout is just fine for us - but who knows what future needs will be?

Subject: [Vantage] Personalize Methods Tracker Tree View?
Is there any way to personalize/ customize Tree Options for Method
Tracker? It'd be great if we could turn on descriptions and qties etc
in the left hand tree pane, as we do for Job Tracker, Quote Tracker,
Engineering Workbench etc. We've been told by our consultants (Cogita)
that it is not possible, but we've already done a few things that were
called "impossible" , so haven't given up hope yet... What makes Method
Tracker so different from other trackers? Thanks in advance (I've asked this once before, but not in it's own thread).
