Here is what is listed for Phantom BOM: A phantom bill of material represents a part that is built, but not stocked before it is used in the next level of manufacturing. When Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processing is run, the program logic will blow through phantom items straight to their components when determining material needs.
Personally, we used them for a a few things but went back to a straight BOM structure.
The Pull As Assembly means you want to pull the item into a job as a make-to-order item (if unchecked). If checked, it means you want to pull the item into a job as pull/pick from stock.
We don't use Plan as Assembly, so not familiar, but the Epicor definition is: Plan As Assembly ->
