PO Receipt Doesn't Show up in Inspection Processing Search

The bin is not non-nettable and everything else looks right so I decided to take a look in SQL (testdb of course) and in the dbo.rcvdtl table the inspectionpending field indicates it is awaiting inspection (indicated by a 1 in the field) but I'm not sure where to go next. Any ideas? Also anyone ever had this issue and used a Conversion Program to clean it up?
Hi Vantage Group,

I really need some help with this.

So we have a PO for a part (goes into an assembly) that requires inspection after receipt, the PO has been received and all indications (Part Transaction History, Receipt Tracker etc.) show that it is in Inspection (waiting to be inspected) however when we do a PO Receipts search in Inspection Processing it doesn't show up.

Any ideas? We are on 8.03.409A

Thanks,

What transaction types do you see in Part Tran History for the PO

PUR-INS

INS-STK

INS-MTL

The transaction type shows PUR-INS

Look at Part Tracker to see where the part is (On Hand > Bins tab).  Whoever did your inspection processing probably did not “move it” to the correct bin (could possibly be in a non-nettable bin).  If this is true, then you will need to do a stock to stock transfer to move it to the correct bin.

Thanks for the reply Bethany. Unfortunately when I retrieve the bin information in Part Tracker I get nothing...no data. However, under Part Transaction History the bin shows as INS-IN

I have never seen the transaction type INS-IN.  The only transaction types I know of for inspection are:

·         INS-ASM              Inspection to (Job) Assembly

·         INS-DMR             Inspection to DMR

·         INS-MTL               Inspection to Material

·         INS-STK                Inspection to Stock

·         INS-REJ                 Inspection to Reject

·         INS-SUB               Inspection to Job Subcontract

Usually when you can’t see the quantity after doing an Inspection Receipt, it is because it was received to a Non-Nettable bin.  People have referred to it as the “Black Hole”.  Does it give any indication where it is on the line in Part Transaction History Tracker?

INS-IN is the bin but the type is PUR-INS and the warehouse is INSPECT

Look at the INS-IN bin in Warehouse Bin Maintenance.  Is it a Non Nettable bin (is the box checked)?  If so, you can do a Quantity Transfer to move the material from the INS-IN bin it to another bin that is NOT a Non Nettable bin.  This will allow you to issue the material to a job or stock it somewhere where you can see it in the system.

You should have a transaction INS-MTL.

This should put it in the Inspection Queue.

What transaction is on that receipt?
