A business should have floater licenses, tomorrow you are going to do a BO/External Process or something which will consume a license, and you won’t be able to due not having any extra floater licenses. I am not talking about 10, but ~3

We had the same desire (to prevent MES users from using full licenses) and had at one time used a single MES user account for all stations. We have since assigned discrete user accounts to each MES station so we can see who is consuming the full license and work with them to determine their needs. We also used security to remove pretty much all access on these accounts so there is little incentive to log into the main application.
Current license consumption is visible in user tracker if you think you may be running into the issue of running out of data collection user licenses.
