We use terminal server 2003 and 803.400I. I have not experienced the
same problems that you seem to be having. I only have one person
that occassionaly seems to have a problem printing one specific ODBC
report. His terminal server session will lock up. All the of the
temp folders for users are stored on the server - usually under
Epicor/mfgsysdata. We create a seperate folder for each user as a
part of our setup process and grant them full rights to it. It
appears that you may have multiple users logging in to Vantage from
the same terminal server session (logged on as one user). That
creates a rights problem on the print folders. The system creates
the XML print file in the folder assigned to the Vantage user but
when it comes time to print the user logged on to windows must have
the rights to the Vantage user print folder. If they are not the
same and the rights were not assigned the you will get that error.
Let me know if I did not make sense.
We are having problems with our Terminal Server users. We do modify
our Crystal Reports.

Vantage will crash sometimes when they attempt to print. Sometimes,
the Vantage System Monitor will have an error on the report job "System
error has occurred. Run in preview mode from System Monitor"

The only documentation that Epicor has provided was for Version 6 and
earlier? I'm waiting for support to look for more recent documentation.

I was wondering how accurate the old documenation is for my version of
TS and Vantage.

1. Is everyone installing Progress Locally on a Terminal Server. We
do not use our Vantage server as the terminal server. I'm not sure if
installing progress applies to SQL users or not.

2. How did you configure temporary folders for your users? I'm having
trouble finding the *.VTG files that the instructions refer to.

Thanks for any suggestions that you can offer.
we run pretty much the exact same environment.
for permissions. if you preview the report... what errors do you see?

permissions required on
c:\epicor\mfgsysdate\reports\USERNAME are

1. system - full control
2. The particular user denoted in USERNAME above: read/write.

we didn't do anyting with vtg files

We are having two problems. I'm not sure if this matters or not, we
run Terminal Server on a 64-bit server. We have the Epicor server
added to our trusted servers.

1. Printing - The report never comes up. In the system monitor, you
see a message similar to: "print system error. Try previewing in
System Monitor".

2. We are starting to get access denied messages for many terminal
server users. I do an account reset and this does not ssem to work.
We are setup for single sign on. This has been working perfectly.

We are 2 weeks from go live. In testing, we have had a 2-3 terminal
users at a time. Now, there are more users logged in. Our PC users
are not having these problems.

Did you change the documents and settings\All Users permissions?
There are some Epicor installation files there. I added Everyone
with full control to this area. Changing this resolved another
report related problem that I was having. Before setting these
permissions, the terminal server user received an access denied
message when printing reports (unless they were administrators).

I checked permissions on the Epicor Server. The domain
group "Everyone" has full control to the Reports folder on the server.

Thanks.
