Progress Explorer HELP!

the default port on the server is 20931.
possibly changing the port to this value will restore things.
good luck!

So I decided to install a patch. Progress Explorer will no longer
connect. I cannot start my databases.

WHAT HAPPENED!?!?

It sits at "Connecting user "Administrator" to Admin Server
on "localhost" at port "20555". (9096)

Can anyone please help? My whole company is down because of this

What version of progress?

I apologize for the frantic post.

I got the server up and running. It wasn't a Vantage nor a Progress
issue.

We have an APC UPS attached to the server and it runs Powerchute.
Apparently anyone running powerchute needed to upgrade to a new
version by July 27, 2005 or the next time they reboot they will run
into this problem.

I uninstalled Powerchute, and all my services ran normally.

Please pass the word on to anyone with Powerchute.

Thanks,
Ben

Very strange - how would anyone have known? I use powerchute,
rebooted this morning, and was lucky with no problems.

I rebooted our server on Friday and ran into this exact same problem. I
ended up just uninstalling all the powerchute applications as well.

A heads up by APC would have been nice !!

Since I use Powerchute too, I started looking for the upgrade, and found
that the upgrade is required only for Powerchute Business Edition 6.X, not
for Powerchute Plus, etc.

I have always had a funny theory about UPS software on a server, seams to
cause more downtime and issues than it prevents.

I had to ditch mine 2 years ago. I forget exact details, but it was
interfering with backup program operation I think.
