Our installation started acting wacky today for some reason today (random disconnections, etc). So I checked the logs and noticed this error message popping up in the Application Event logs several times every minute. I've stopped all non-essential servers using PET, and still it is happening. Has anyone seen this before?

Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit, Progress 64-bit 10.2A installation.

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
OK, did that. Still happening, approximately every 10-12 seconds.

What's next?

How big is your DB? Progress has a thing about if your DB is bigger than 2
GB or 4 GB you need to change some settings. Can't remember the exact number

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
750MB, we've only been live for about 6 weeks.

the 905 server log shows these entries, over and over:

[11/06/07@21:51:45.175-0400] P-003244 T-002392 1 AS -- Logging level greater than 1 must be specified either for ASPlumbing or for all types by using -logginglevel. (11072)
[11/06/07@21:51:45.176-0400] P-003244 T-002392 1 AS -- Logging level greater than 1 must be specified either for DB.Connects or for all types by using -logginglevel. (11072)
[11/06/07@21:51:45.176-0400] P-003244 T-002392 1 AS -- Logging level set to = 1
[11/06/07@21:51:45.176-0400] P-003244 T-002392 1 AS -- No entry types are activated

ProcessServer.server shows:
[11/06/07@18:44:04.185-0400] P-004392 T-004396 1 AS -- (Procedure: 'agent\startup.p' Line:814) Connection failure for host localhost port 9403 transport TCP. (9407)
[11/06/07@18:44:04.185-0400] P-004392 T-004396 1 AS -- (Procedure: 'agent\startup.p' Line:814) Application server connect failure. (5468)
[11/06/07@18:44:04.185-0400] P-004392 T-004396 1 AS -- (Procedure: 'agent\startup.p' Line:816) AppServer connection failure: -URL AppServerDC://localhost:9403
[11/06/07@18:44:14.219-0400] P-004392 T-004396 1 AS -- (Procedure: 'agent\startup.p' Line:843) Agent Started: SystemTaskAgent (Program: agent/TaskAgent.p

Think I found it, but what does it mean? This is repeated in the TaskAgent.server log:
[11/06/07@21:55:45.153-0400] P-004640 T-004644 1 AS -- (Procedure: 'processIMRecords agent/TaskAgent.p' Line:2188) Server is not connected. (5537)

Ok turn on your main app server but leave the task agent off, as well as ...
whatever that otherone is that escapes me now. Just turn on the main App
Server. If you already have it on, stop it all , stop the DB, turn the db
back on and turn the main App Server back on.
If that stops it form throwing errors, login to your Epicor and disable all
your Global Alerts. Checkl the settings on the System agent and give it a
shot.

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
It got worse this morning, randomly logging users out and such so I called support and they instructed me to delete the system agent and then re-create it using conversion 8180, then editing it to have the correct ports & paths.

So far, so good, the errors have stopped and it appears everything is working again.

Support thinks something got screwy with the system agent when we had the power outage.

Thanks for your help Jose,

SB
