In Epicor 9, entering a Purchase Order line as Job Material causes the system to issue the material to the job as soon as you enter a receipt. Is there a way to prevent this from occurring? We'd like to be able to show (on the Purchase Order) that material was bought for a specific job, but have the receipt quantity sit in On-Hand inventory until it's manually issued to the job.
You could use a reference field on the line/release but otherwise no, if you flagged the purchase material as non-stock (purchase direct) that is what it is going to do
Have you thought about using a project ID? You could link all your quotes, orders, jobs to a project and any purchase order you cut you could show was being purchased for a certain project even
if though material was bought and received to stock

I don't think the job material is technically issued to the job until the material in Received. You could mark the material as arrived in Receipt entry. I believe this also allows the material to show up in AP Invoice Entry so you can pay the bills. Then your process would be to complete the receipt process when you want to issue it to the job.
