Purging User Favorites E10

We just went Live with E10. We have noticed that some favorites are not working. We had thought we had purged them before letting people in. And we had purged all Personalizations, MenuHistorys, MenuLayouts, and Dashboard Options before letting users in. I personally don’t use favorites so I missed that fact that other users still had them even after purging those items.

Is there a tool to clear everyone’s favorites or will we have to manually purge user by user?

Thanks!
Caleb

The table that stores the folders that a user can move a favorite is ice.favfolder.

The table that stores the individual favorite items is ice.favitems.

How one uses this information is not something I can control < cough >

Crossed my mind… but I was trying to find a legal way. I ended up using a small console app using the Favorite BO to remove them.

On a side note of purging things. Epicor had a good start in the Customization Maintenance and Personalization Purge Menu’s to purge items all at once but here it was Epicor needs to add.

Purge All Method/Data Directives.
Purge All BAQ’s
Purge All Dashboards
Purge All Favorites

Just food for thought…

Favorites are per user so there isn’t a current formal way to purge all.

The CONS to what is being proposed outweighs any PROS that I could think of, but, food for thought received.

It would be wonderful to have a way to purge a user’s favorites. As time goes by and users come and go, the favitems table just continues to grow. Not a big deal but i like to keep things tidy.

I guess my question would be:

Why bother? If you deactivate the user, are not that user’s favorites will be ignored? They can’t take up that much space (much less space than your millions of PartTran and GLTran records).
