Serial Numbered Part has two 'Ghost' items in stock that don't h

If you find that a serial number has the wrong status - in Serial number Maintenance – it will allow you to change  the status. You will get a nasty  warning.

You can change the status to Inventory and  it will show up in your list when you  do a quantity adjustment.

A serial numbered part in our stock shows 21 on hand for a bin, but we only have 19 S/N’s available I want to make the on hand balance match up with the S/N’s on hand, basically making 2 of them disappear from on hand. I cannot do that as it is asking me for the S/N’s and what we show for on hand S/N’s is correct. Any suggestions as to how to get rid of these two 'Ghost' items?

I use the Web Service Tester to delete Serial numbers (SerialNo Service) that are blank.  What I do is:
- Use the the GetList method to verify that there is a blank serial number.  The whereClause is PartNum = 'AAAAA'.
- Call DeleteByID.  The PartNum parameter does not require quotation marks.  I leave the serial number parameter empty.
- Call GetList again to verify it is gone.
Thanks for this - I haven't used the Web Service Tester before - not even sure where it might be - is there any instructions/help available online for it?

I think it comes with the Full client install.  We have it in the \\Epicor\mfgsys803400\Utilities directory.  Not much to it regarding documentation since it is kind of ‘use-it-at-your-own-risk’.  I think it was originally meant for the Epicor Developers to test their stuff.  Same with the BL Tester.

All you need is the URL of the specified discovery file for the Web Services (i.e.: LIVE or TEST or PILOT).  Your IT personnel should be able to help with that.  After you have entered the specific URL.disco file, then all of the loaded Web Services for that database should eventually show up.  Double click  any service and another form should pop up.  Enter in your Epicor user name and password on the left side.  You will only have to enter in this information at the beginning of each use of the WS Tester.  Meaning that if you call multiple methods from multiple web services, you only need to enter your info the first time until you close the form and reopen it again.

I use the BL Tester and WS Tester a lot.  To see what the data looks like before and after I make changes.
