Serial Numbers - need guidance

We went live on 8.0 in Apr 06 and had the same requirement. The
capability does not currently exist, but is supposedly being
developed. We decided to continue to use an Access database we had
developed and were using before getting Vantage.

We're implementing Vantage 8.03 in February - and we have
some "unique" needs.

We need - for our market space - traceability of serialized components
to the specific serialized parent which uses the component(s). Most
parents are serialized, and most have four to six serialized different
components. We need this traceability for both initial forward
production (during which we may need to swap serialized components)
and after sale (we do depot level service).

Is anyone else out there doing anything like this? Drop me a line -
directly if you can - and if your processes are a match to mine, I'll
