Service Connect SQL setup

We can easily have 660 SC events in a 24 hour period. Many of our
events include up to 680 steps while processing all of the data. Many
of the events can also trigger errors that are posted to individual
tasks that are stored in task manager until resolved and then are
maintained in the db for a designated period of time for documentation
purposes for SOX. So the potential for us is 300,000 plus individual
transactions through SC in a day.

Hello,

I am in the process of building a server to run Service Connect. Do we need the `ideal' SQL drive configuration, or not? Bearing in mind our instance of Vantage (8.03.406) has a 23GB Progress backend.

Regards,

Michael
To my knowledge no. The SQL instance used by SC is just for management of the SC workflows, doc tracking, etc. SQL Express works just fine for that.

The size of the Progress DB it is issuing commands to should be irrelevant.

Just a note - If you have large volumes of SC transactions, SQLExpress
can easily reach is Max Record limit.

We had to change to use full Blown SQL in order to accommodate our
volume of transactions.

Hey jerry,

You've made me curious.. can you define large volumes, and what
information is the SC sql database storing that needs the room? Thanks!
