Single Sign on Blank Title 128302

find your .mfgsys file and open it with notepad...... mine is found in c/:epicor/epicor905/client/config.

search for sign and change false to true......

<SingleSignOn value="false" bool="" />

I suppose I do not understand how single sign on works as I have not been able to get it to.  Would someone please explain the steps necessary to get single sign on to work.  We are on 9.05.702a although I don't think that makes any difference in the procedures.

 Thank you.

Single sign on means that the person can online sign on to vantage when he or she is signed on to the netowrk on that computer. he or she cannot open vantage under their name from someones else pc

That’s only the case if you setup their profile and check the box labeled “Require Single Sign-on” on the user settings screen.

If you don’t check that box then they can still maintain a username and password and sign on from any computer, regardless of the windows logon at that workstation.

According to everyone that responded all I should have to do is enter the domain userid and the login domain in the user record and enter true for the SingleSignOn value in the .mfgsys file.  Everytime I try this I get an error message that reads "You are not setup for single sign on".

Any other suggestions that might help?

Have you set the password for the Epicor user to the same one as the windows logon?

If you have access to the new epicweb site, you may want to look answerbook doc 12281MPS (https://epicweb.epicor.com/ReportServer/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx?/ePortal/ABDetail&rs:Command=Render&rc:Toolbar=true&Card_ID=12281MPS)

Hi

Does anyone have an example of an mfgsys file that contains the Single Sign On code?

I have it enabled against my user, but when I try to log on I get a message saying 'You can only log on via single sign on'.

I am hoping to have certain PCs log on to Epicor automatically when the user logs on.

Thanks

Windows password and Epicor Password do not need to be the same, because the Epicor Password is not even accessed.

Just setup the user active directory name and domain on the user record in Epicor and setup the Mfgsys file to have the single sign to True is all you need.

For some users (finance for example) for security reasons you would set the flag to require Single Signon because then only through the more secure Active directory, would that user be able to log into Epicor.
