Surcharges On Invoices HELP!

Can someone please lead me to a solution here?

One of our employees came to me this morning saying he could not end his
activity from last night in Vantage. I used the endact.r utility to do that
for him. Now, when I went back into Data Collection, I received two
separate errors. First, on a shop computer, when I tried to clock him out,
it said I needed a valid shift. He is clearly clocked in to a valid shift.
Secondly, I came back to my computer and tried to clock him out using Office
Data Collection. When I went there, it stated that the record was currently
in use, but I clearly logged him out on the shop computer.

Is there a utility like endact.r for clocking out an employee? If so, if I
contact Vantage and ask for it by name? Please help me. It has been a long
week.

Jim, whenever that happens here, the first thing I look for is another Data
Collection session with the PROMON utility that the employee could have used
and is frozen somewhere. Disconnecting the frozen session with PROMON
(option 8 and then 1 on the menu) usually corrects the problem.

Jim,

Try to get Epicor tech supp to send you clockout.r. It's supposed to do
just that according to them. They sent it to me. Couldn't make it work
here. Compile issues of some sort. But you might give them a try.

Also, when I had some phantom sessions going on that didn't show up
anywhere, tech supp told me to turn off Pro Control, then stop the Progress
service, then start the service, then turn Pro Control back on. That freed
the missing licenses. No reboot necessary - only need to get the users to
logoff first.

Maybe something here will help.

Close the session on the DC station he is logged into and then run
endact.r. If he is logged into a station endact.r doesn't work. Just went
through this yesterday.

I just had this discussion with Epicor. The only way now is to add a
line to the order and have it 'shipped' with the part. There is nothing
that can be done in Vantage short of getting custom programming to
create the program. There was an enhancement request put through for

We use misc. charges on the SO line item when we have to add surcharges.
But, it is still a manual process.
Better than adding a line, I would have customer service add misc charge.

Hi Kris,

Hope all is OK.

Regarding surcharges, we've had a little program for over 6 years
that automatically updates orders. Although it was written before my
arrival, I've been through the code on a couple of occasions.

Let me know if I need to study it, explain its operation, and help
you implement your own. I could work on it this weekend.

If you want to tell the other person interested in surcharges about
this feel free.
