Employee stuck Vantage 6.1

This sounds very familiar to a situation we had about two years ago
where one of our employees was clocked into the same day twice at the
same time. After a couple of calls to support sending them our database
and using the endact.r program they sent out the situation still
existed. We eventually cleared the problem by going in through an ODBC
connection and deleting one of the records from the LaborHed table.

If you have not done so already you should take look at the raw data in
the LaborHed and LaborDtl tables to see if there are any orphaned
records.

Sorry about the confusion, it is in regard a shop employee stuck in
the data collection.
I've also tried to select this employee on the Vantage server instead
of a client, only to get a "Process: Prowin32.exe Application error".
After that the server would become very unstable forcing me to do a
cold boot.

Vantage session will crash without errors if attempting to view this
employee's data.
"Endact.r" does not remove it.
This problem appeared around the time after we converted from Vantage
4. to Vantage 6.
We had exempt this employee from login in Vantage untill now.
Any help will be appretiated.

Is this in regard to a shop employee and data collection or a Vantage
User logging into Vantage?

Do you have the latest 6.1 version of Endact.r ? That routine is notoriously version specific and not automatically distributed with new versions. You woul dneed to request it from Epicor Support.

If Endact.r is OK I guess my first approach would be to see what the data really is by running a quick & dirty Report Builder report on the labor head and detail records for the employee. In RB developer mode it may not crash RB yet allow seeing what's up with the transaction data (and the empbasic table too).

I vaguely also recall another Endact.r type routine that is a little more extreme than just ending an activity and ends the entire labor head level as well. This too was obtained from Epicor.

Come to think of it though some of this stuff was later included in the database "conversion" routines. I just checked and you might try conversions 7428 and 7429 (System Management - Utilities - Database Conversions).

There is another place within Vantage where you can end a person's
session. Look under system management, there is a program called
sessions (or something like that). You can end a person's session there
as well. The only problem it is under the user's userid.

It's been a while since I have been on 6.1, so hopefully you can look
and see.
