Is there a way to increase the length of time that a Printed\Generated Report stays in the System Monitor (or wherever else it is located - and where else exactly is this report data located?) Right now it looks like the default PurgeDate for us is always 2 hours from when the report is printed/generated. Is there a way I can extend that or temporarily turn it off (which doesn’t sound like a good idea but would maybe be okay in a development environment…?)
I’m working with SSRS reports and my TableGuid is expiring and then I have to re-generate the report and grab a new TableGuid.
Hopefully you can see the image below clear enough…this is just a curious observation but the second entry in the image is for a Crystal Report that was printed on 04/12/2017 2:39PM but the PurgeDate is 04/11/2017 08:00PM. The Crystal Report sat in the System Monitor for like 10 minutes and then disappeared. So it doesn’t seem as if the PurgeDate settings are being applied to our Crystal Reports?
Isn’t it controlled by the Archive Period in each print window?
From the help:
Archive Period
Select the period for which you would like to keep the report in the System Monitor for possible reprinting. The default is 0 Days, meaning that the report is deleted from the System Monitor shortly after it has been printed.
The exact date and time that a report is purged is determined by a combination of the date and time that the report is generated, the number of days set in Archive Period, and the Report Purge Frequency setting in the system monitor’s task agent purge settings.
Wow, I can’t believe I never noticed that option before…okay, that completely answers my question! I feel like that was a “duh Heather” moment for me. LOL But definitely great to know! This will be very helpful! Thank you so much! I’m so used to those XML files sitting out there long enough for me to work with them in Crystal that I’ve never had need for that option before I guess…
