I’m having an issue logging into one of our Epicor environments. I get a blank page and the following error.
I’ve deleted the files in c:\programdata\Epicor and c:\users<username>\appdata\local\epicor
I’ve also taken the url in the HomepageURL tag of the sysconfig file and can access epicor thru the web.
Epicor support hasn’t been much help. Any ideas?
Oh, and I am the only one this is happening too, so far.

Check this thread…similar symptom…
Over the weekend we updated the Windows Server OS that is hosting our Epicor 10.2.700.34 from Windows Server 2016 to Windows Server 2022. It completed without any issues. We tested many elements of Epicor and everything worked as expected.
Well, we did all of our testing in Classic view and today we discovered that anyone using Active view can’t get in. Their Classic view is fine, but if they try Active view they get:
Unable to log in to the Kinetic Home Page. Error code:-181
and then
The…

I saw that and went to look for disable TLS 1.3 over TCP but its not an option in our IIS.

So you can get to it via browser but not client?
We barely use client (a handful of Citrix users for specific tasks) so not sure what else to recommend.

Correct. I can’t get to it on my computer but can navigate to it via a web browser and other users can get into it with no issues.

Welp. Now I’m outta luck. Hopefully there’s a client-centric user here that’s seen it before and can chime in.
EDIT / Hold on - found another thread to which I responded with same above.
Looping in @mkfernandez who started it…
Users can’t seem to log into the kinetic home page, we’re getting the following error.

We can log in using the classic theme, and we can log in via browser, but kinetic home page through the client doesn’t seem to want to work. Nothing seems wrong with URL in the configs, and certificates are still valid.

No luck on my end so far, I think we tried reinstalling the net framework and that somehow resolved the issue on most of our users. Epicor support isn’t much help on my end as well.
We still have the handful of machines that still have this issue. Clearing the cache, reinstallation of Kinetic / net framework / etc. doesn’t seem to work.
We can access via web browser no problem, but if the user wants to use the client the only way to access it on those problematic machines is to force the classic menu to load (append /shell to the shortcut path)

Thanks for the quick reply…sounds like the usual recommendations:
(un/re)install client, NET, cache…

I can try reinstalling .net framework on my machine to see if that works. I can RDP out to another machine to get in or use the web but I’m worried that someone else may have the issue.
