Unfreighting = EM0270:Invalid Shipment Number (Manifest System Message)

Our shipping person tells me we can’t unfreight in E10, as we get the following error when we attempt to. Can someone help shed some light on this error or where to look to further troubleshoot?

We see that error on occasion and it has the same effect in that we can’t unfreight. Unsure about the cause.
Have had to use a direct SQL query fix that we received from Epicor support for it.

Suggest you contact support for the best procedure in case it has changed.

Per epicor you could try this procedure. Important that you notice the fact that you have to change to a “Non-shipping” workstation.

"You can use the following steps to get the pack back in a workable state:

  1. Ensure that you are on an Un-Enabled manifest workstation

You can double-check this by going into Material Management -> Shipping and Receiving -> Setup and double-clicking Workstation

If there are no un-enabled workstations, you can disable a shipping station by un-checking the Enabled box and then clicking save. **After making this change, you will need to “re-enter” this workstation by clicking Options -> Change Workstation from the home screen in Vantage.

  1. Launch Customer Shipment Entry and bring up the pack in question

  2. Enter a stage name in the Stage field

  3. Click Actions -> Stage

  4. Right-click on the stage field and click Stage Ship Confirm

  5. Within the Stage Ship Confirm window, select the pack by clicking the triangle on the left

side of list and click Actions -> Unstage

  1. Click the Refresh button

Notice the Status is now Closed

  1. Highlight the stage name, press the delete or backspace button on your keyboard to erase it

and then click save

  1. Click Actions -> Open

The pack is now open and ready for changes to be made

  1. Make your changes (add/remove lines, etc.)

  2. When finished, click Actions -> Close and then click the Shipped box to change the pack back

to a Shipped status

  1. If you disabled a shipping station in step 1, re-enable the workstation and launch back into an

into it by clicking Options -> Change Workstation from the Vantage home screen"

I can confirm this works. I did this today in fact to try to fix a shipment. It’s a shame it takes so much to get a shipment unfreighted.
