Upgrade to 5.1

I will give it a try, I also turned off Antivirus real time scanning on the
clients, still no effect. Both PC's are on their 4th progress client
install. I'm just going to do a fresh install of the OS.

I upgraded to Vantage 5.1 over the weekend.
I have 2 Windoz 98 second addition PCs where the Progress Client Install
hangs at 90% complete.
Vantage runs but report builder reports give me the PRORE32 page fault error
on RBENG00.DLL

I loaded the MDAC patch from Microsoft & tried reinstalling the progress
client. (Didn't work)
I Upgraded from IE 5.0 to 5.5 (Didn't help, installation still stalls)

Anyone been down this path and have any comments or suggestions?

Everything looked OK on the server. All services running, etc. At the
workstations, no joy.
AAARRRRGGGHHH Can't find what's wrong!
So I ran around and upgraded all workstations to 5.1 on Sunday. Everyone
was ready this morning. No other glitches to report (yet).
Now I have to fix all the Crystal that's broken. And RB. I had hoped to do
this in an organized, leisurely manner. Now it's panic fix it time.

Oh well, that's why we get the big bucks, right?

Roberty,

The Progress Explorers for 9.1a and 9.1c don't mix. You probably had both of them running. What you would have needed to do was "disable" the Admin Server for 9.1a in services, and then set up both 5.0 and 5.1 in Progress Explorer for 9.1C. Hindsight.

Congratulations, Count your blessings and think of all the time you will save on testing, countless meetings about WHEN to convert, having your users all nervous about what's going to be different. Sometimes just jumping into the ice cold pool is the best way to get wet.
