Tim:
This is a issue usually comes around with databases from about 900 meg and
larger. Your best bet is to stop the database which it seems you have,
scrap the 4.0 database which you copied over, and then copy a fresh database
back over. Perform a prostrct repair on the drive which the database sits,
open the schema.vtg file, change the connect options to just -1 (you can put
a colon or semi colon in front of your old one), Do not restart your
database, the -1 is connecting as a single user, and then try your schema
again. This reduced my time to about 3 hours total. Remember to put back
your connect options plus perform another prostrct repair when you are done.
If you have any questions about this process you may contact me offline or
contact Epicor support.

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage 5 Conversion?
Has anyone run into any problems doing their
conversion to 5.0? I started last week, trying to
load it onto a test system, and as of noon today,
the Schema change to go between 4 and 5 will have
been running for 4 days. I'm going to stop it, and
try again, is there anything I can check before running
the change to verify my database, and ensure that it
will run? Any other suggestions for this step? Our
DB is about 1 GB, and I was following the installation
instructions that I downloaded from the Epicor support
web site. Thanks in advance.
