One other thing you can do is to install Norton Server on you Vantage server
as a secondary server with no clients. Then, you can exclude directories you
don't want scanned on this server when accessed by clients.

One thing you can check for is to make sure Norton only scans files that are
created or downloaded, not on accessed.

We use Norton Corporate. After setting the clients not to scan the mapped
drive for Vantage and not to scan ".r" files our login times came back to
normal.
