Symantec Antivirus

To add to that - in addition to the server not scanning the Epicxx (or whatever) folder tree the user's should be set to exclude the mapped drive. Otherwise it considerablly lengthens the startup time for the client. There are a couple check boxes to be mindful of on the user exclusions settings in order to get them truly excluded.

Otherwise we've seen no performance hit at all from Symantec AV even when installed on the Vantage server.

We use the Norton Corporate Antivirus, but it's not installed on the Vantage
server. One thing you do not want the AV software to scan the Vantage
database. From past experience it will cause the database to stop. Not
fun!!

Not to long ago somebody had mentioned that they had Symantec Antivirus
corporate edition on their Vantage server. I could not find that email in
the Yahoo archives so I must ask this questions. I know it should be setup
to not scan the network drive but what else needs to be set up for this to
work without too much of a performance hit?

Thanks,

Jasper
