Vantage not starting

at all, however if I or anyone else tries to get into vantage nothing
happens. If I click on my vantage icon, and I ctrl/alt/del only vantage
is loading, no progress, if I cancel that to let vantage to continue to
load, still nothing happens and if I cad again, vantage is gone. Any
ideas. BTW, we're running v5.0 and this is the first I've seen this in
the month we've been running.

I am working on Vantage 4.0
Is this on certain workstation's? I had the same problem that I posted yesterday. I had one workstation which was working fine then all of sudden Vantage stopped itself and closed.

What I found to be the problem, is that I had a time syncing program running on this machine, the time sync was not running/configured properly, so the time was not updating. Once I fixed that I was able to run Vantage again. I am not sure why it would
not run but that did fix my problem.

I also had this happen to me before (same machine) I had to uninstall and reinstall Progress Client. We thought it was an isolated problem, so we did not dig to much until it happened again.

I'm not sure if this helps but...

P.S. Also another use e-mailed recommended I clean up the vntgwork folder.

I'm still on 4.0, but had a similar thing happen when I installed a Winnt
workstation and accidentally defaulted to the incorrect directory. As long
as people stayed logged on to Vantage they were fine, but when they got out
and attempted to go back in, poof!! Vantage was gone. You have to uninstall
and reinstall the workstation, and in my case, I had 4 others I had to do as
well. Live and learn...I just hope I don't forget all this stuff!

So my question is - have you just recently installed a new workstation?

Thanks Dina, I uninstalled the progress client, then reinstalled and
that seems to have cleared up the problem.
