Vantage, TS, and PDF printing

I dont know if your having printing problems with anything else in
terminal services, but when we first started using terminal services,
printing was a nightmare.

We just turned off the option to connect client printers at logon and
installed all the printers on the servers. We were having all kinds of
problems with the printer connections dropping off and just not
connecting from the beginning. This feature is found under Terminal
Services Configuration and by right clicking and selecting properties
on RDP - TCP.

This had made our jobs a lot easier here. And again, we use pdfredirect
without a problem.

I am running Vantage 6.1 on a Windows TS Server and I am TRYING to
print PDF's. I am using CuteDPF writer and it works fine on Word docs
or any other app BUT Vantage. I have done a search on the forum and
found little about pdf printing on a TS server.

If someone can shed some light on this, I would appreciate very much.

We use PDFRedirect without issue. There's a free & professional
version, we use the free version.

I have the same issue with Docuprinter. The only solution I have found to this if under the Remote Desktop options select the Local Resources tab and then deselect Printers.

This does work but the downside is if your user want to print locally they must either disconnect and then log back on with printers selected or they can email it to them self and access their email off the remote computer.

We run Vantage 8.0 on a TS and use PDF Redirect and it seems to work
great for anything we use it for. You might wanna give it a try. It is
also a free program which is always a plus.

we use TS and to print pdf's we use DeskPDF
http://www.docudesk.com/desk_pdf_product_home.shtml and it works great!

We have the same set up.
And use Cute and Adobe to write PDFs.
The trick is for the user to make sure that the cute printer is the
default before they initiate the print.

There seems to be an issue in TS, if you have local and users printers.
when a users printer is default you can't jump betwen printers in
vantage. But when a printer installed on the server (local printer) is
default Vantage works when you move betwen printers.
