The visible Vendor ID can be changed because the Key field is
VendorNum which is a system assigned # that never changes, and isn't
even viewable in Vantage. You cans see it in Report Builder,
Crystal, or Access for example but not on any of the Vantage Screens
or Canned Reports. We have changed Customer ID's and Names and
Vendors ID's and Names when necessary. It is certainly favorable to
setting up a brand new Vendor or Customer because you would lose all
of the history tied to that customer. I like the ability to change
on the fly and have everything tied to the customer or vendor change
with it. It was not possible with our old DCD system and that was a
tremendous pain when a customer would change its name. All open
orders would have to be cancelled and recreated for the new
Customer! Not anymore, it is a great feature to be able to do this.
