Sounds like a fixed time dummy OP betwen the subcontract OPs is your best bet then. It is only a model... Better that it works well enough for scheduling (if not necessarily accurate to your actual value added process steps) than not.

Just tested it with no luck. System still schedules the finish on first
outside with the same date as the start on the next.

Or try move/queue. Don't know how it behaves with subC ops but worth a test
try.

Yes we use Subcontract Operations and MRP. Like on all P.O.'s the system
due date is in house date not ship from vendor date. This then makes the
next operation late due to travel time and if it is another outside
operation even later due to the fact it has to be shipped out again for the
next P.O.. The only thing I can think of is that we would have to put extra
operations in for shipping time.

Are you using Subcontract Operations for your outside operations? We do not
use MRP, however, I would think this would solve some of your problems.

I wanted to ask how people are handling outside operations P.O. dates.
Vantage added receive time for purchase parts to handle purchase due date
that is actually does not include transport time. The problem that I see is
that receive time does not function with outside operation P.O.'s.
How do you handle it if for example you have two outside operations back to
back? MRP plans that the due date on the first P.O. is the date the the part
should be at the second operation. We find on some parts that they have to
be shipped back to plant and ship back out.
Thanks in advance!
