Version 6 tracker problems

We had the same things happening when we went from Vantage 5.0 to 5.2. The
screen flickering on some the low system resources for shure. I found that
the Windows 2000 and XP didn't seem to have the problem. Mainly on Windows
98. One thing in common here was that they were on a subnet. We have two
half class C TCPIP ranges that are routed together with the router of
course. We had major problems that were corrected after reseting a firewall
that was answering routing request for the router. I'd check on your
machines that are really acting up and see if there are any strange network
settings there. The reason we started looking at the network was that one
user was running a junked out Windows 98 machine like a champ. It was slow,
but no lockups. That machine was on the main set of IP addresses and needed
no routing instructions.

We had the exact same problems, including flickering screens, begin when we
went from 5.1 to 5.2. Ours are limited to Win98 machines - have not seen it
on Win2k or XP. Epicor gave me a suggestion to uninstall the progress
client and run Vantage from a shortcut with all the parameters in the
command line. This seemed to help some but did not eliminate the problems.
It is always with users using something related to jobs or scheduling. I
may have to upgrade the OS to Win2k or XP or I am going to be hung by a
couple of our production people. Epicor had also advised me that they had
not seen the problem with 6.0 some maybe I should upgrade. Hopefully now
that they have seen it on 6.0 they will work a little harder to get a
solution before I have to spend $$ I don't really have.
