It should be on the BOM and not on the PartPlant.

Not much flexibility when sometimes you want a part to be backflush on some assemblies and not others.

Thanks, I turned in a field help improvement for JobMtl.Backflush to state the default value is located in PartPlant.BackFlush otherwise logically you would look at Engineering Workbench for the PartMtl.BackFlush field which doesn’t exist. At least that’s where my logic took me.

Part Plant Backflush = True

Job Material must have a related operation.

My question was how do you add a backflush material item to a manufactured part so it is automatically setup when you’re creating a job and get details?

You still have to report the quantity against the operation or, set up a final operation and have the previous operation labor methods set to backflush. When you report on the final operation it will backflush the labor on the previous operations and thus backflush the materials for those operations

It should be on the BOM and not on the PartPlant.

Not much flexibility when sometimes you want a part to be backflush on some assemblies and not others.

True, maybe the best enhancement would be both PartPlant and PartMtl for the best of both worlds. Default on PartPlant, Override on PartMtl and JobMtl levels.

<div style="color:#fff;height:0;"></div></div>
If you're looking to have material backflush as production is reported, go to > Part Maintenace>Plants>Detail  along the right column is Backflush.
This causes raw / wip material to backflush out of inventory as production is reported.
