So I got a fairly length list of items that HR would like to be able to track a bunch of things. All good, all valid, all with varying degrees of “built into” Epicor (as far as I know). These things include
Eligible for rehire? Why?
Notes (with payroll security)
Attachments (again with security)
Drug screen eligibility
call in tracking
vacation entry
time worked by week
Multiple hire/terminate dates for people who come and go.
Application tracking (for hiring)
Employee self service (for address/banking/emergency contact etc)
For most of these, each small piece wouldn’t be hard. Some get more involved just due the amount of information involved. As a whole list, it’s a lot of stuff. Luckily, our new HR manager seems pretty interested in making these things work.
So ultimately, my question is, does anyone have and good suggestions or experience for what their company does. Customizations within Epicor? 3rd party software? Any that integrate with E-10 easily.
Also, being a security novice, how hard is the security to handle for some of these sensitive pieces of information?
You are correct that these are 'built into Epicor" with one twist. These are in the Epicor HCM product line and it has a separate cost and maintenance structure. There is base HCM which has some of this functionality and then you can pay more to get application tracking, self-service, etc. I would recommend you look at other vendors and push for a cloud-based solution. I am not saying that HCM won’t work as I have implemented it for a couple customers, I just think you should look around.
